Edward Steichen was born March 27, 1879, Luxembourg—died March 25, 1973. He become very famous in the 1920s to 1930s as a commercial photographer, when he created stylish and convincing portraits of artists and celebrities but I'm here to focus on his landscape photography.
Steichen was already an internationally celebrated painter and photographer when in 1923 he was offered the lucrative and high-profile position as chief photographer at Condé Nast. at he's time there Steichen was said to have been the best known and highest paid photographer in the world.

in these two pictures i am comparing my picture with Edward's picture apart from the quality of the picture because it was the early 1900s when the picture is taken. Me and Edward has a very similar picture with the lake in front of the trees and a clear sky in the background. Of course there will be differences and they are, he has the tree reflecting off the water where i have two ducks, another difference is that he has the sun rising in the background. i think that he's picture is better ignoring the fact he's camera quality is terrible, if his picture was taken again in modern days camera, it would be a lot better. I'm going to try make my picture as good as Edwards but I'm going to have my own touches to it, I'm going to do basically the same thing as before but with the sun rising and not have the ducks in the picture. hopefully I'm my next set of pictures i can do a picture better than Edward Steichen's pictures.
This is who i want to concentrate on for my final piece because Edwards pictures are so unique and so interesting i want to do something similar but with a modern day look n quality, i will be taking 3 sets of pictures. The theme will be Haunting, peaceful and quite abstract. i will be making the viewer feel tranquil but not too sure what they are looking at, Edwards has that effect in the picture above, he's taking a picture of some trees reflecting in the water and the confusing is that you would think its in a forrest/woods but the water is throwing you off and you may think that its a lake instead but you will never be too sure.
